据苏州革命博物馆官网介绍，该博物馆建成于1993年，是省爱国主义教育基地、省党史教育基地、省社会科学普及示范基地、省国防教育基地和省青少年科技教育示范基地，省一级党员教育实境课堂示范点，为江苏省文明单位。2008年5月起，所有展示项目均免费开放。开放时间是每周二至周日9:00-16:30。

8月29日，大皖新闻记者联系了苏州革命博物馆，一位工作人员告诉记者，该博物馆门口是一个开放式的政府广场，平时会有附近的居民在广场上跳舞。针对网友关注的有人站在博物馆门牌石上跳舞的问题，该工作人员表示，博物馆已经与广场建设主管单位以及属地的街道、城管、公安等部门进行了沟通，今后将切实加强广场秩序的管理，及时纠正这种不文明行为的发生。

该工作人员还呼吁，希望广大市民朋友尊重革命纪念场馆的严肃性，倡导文明行为，也共同维护好苏州城市的文明形象。
